ERBEKEES is a proud AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T member since 2015

I have 5+ years and 3 generations of fully health tested parents.

This program is designed for breeders who are not active in AKC conformation or agility but still have a commitment to health and breeding responsibly.

AKC Bred by H.E.A.R.T program sets breeders apart by finally acknowledging breeders who strive for good health and have the desire to have continuous education for our bred, breeding practices, dog health, access to guides on breeding, learning to breed to improve the breed, knowing your genetics and so much more information right at our fingertips!

Being I do not compete in conformation and agility I will never be able to earn the title of “Breeder of Merit” BUT the AKC Bred by H.E.A.R.T program recognizes my commitment to breeding healthy puppies by completing all required health checks prior to breeding and completing health checks on all my dogs. The program gives AKC a new way to engage, encourage and recognize breeders who meet specific health testing standards and who participate in continuing education.

Breeders of Merit are not held to this standard and you will see MANY Breeders of Merit who produce puppies from parents who are not fully tested. Before purchasing a puppy please learn how to identify a health tested parent, please see my Health Testing tab for more information.

Being a member of AKC Bred by H.E.A.R.T program I am also agreeing to be inspected yearly by AKC field inspectors, this includes home visits inspecting your facility, dogs, care of dogs and also paperwork compliance. To date I have been found to be in compliance with all rules and regulations. 

The first step to finding your perfect puppy is to find a breeder you trust, the second step should be to insure they are AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T members.

AKC Bred by H.E.A.R.T

HEALTH: You certify that your breeding stock is  health tested in accordance with the recommendations of their breed’s  AKC Breed Parent Club. Visit our Health Testing Requirements page to see the requirements for your breed(s).

EDUCATION: Promising that you will pursue  AKC-provided or AKC-approved continuing breeder education so that you  stay educated on the best breeding practices, including advances in  canine health.

ACCOUNTABILITY: Agreeing to comply with the AKC  Care and Conditions Policy, including inspections by the AKC, and  promising to share health testing and continuing education documentation  with AKC.

RESPONSIBILITY: Accepting responsibility for the  health and well-being of the puppies you produce and for complying with  all laws regarding the ownership and maintenance of dogs.

TRADITION: Upholding the AKC’s tradition of breeding purebred dogs that are happy and healthy.
